Train Of Light

I stepped aboard that silver train, a stranger in the night
The world was spinning all around, nothing seemed quite right
But slowly through the winding rails, the darkness turned to dawn
And gentle souls reached out their hands and helped me carry on

The windows showed a changing world, the mountains and the rain
And every smile I came to know eased the weight of pain
Their laughter filled the quiet halls, their stories warmed my chest
And on that long and living ride, I learned to do my best

But time will move the wheels ahead, and stations come and go
And some must leave the moving train to walk new paths below
I watched them stepping to the light, my heart began to ache
For losing those you learned to love is every traveler’s fate

Yet from the window I could see the ones who came to greet
With open arms and shining eyes, their joy was bright and sweet
And suddenly the pain I felt turned gently into grace
For every end upon this ride is not a lonely place
