Far above in the sky A lonely falcon flies down below in the meadow A swift, fleeting shadow Death may be just a breath away A tiny creature in the hands of nature Beyond the hill, peaceful and still Are shady green pastures When I was just a young boy My father said to me Search for truth, it's all around you Tho sometimes hard to see The road to find oneself is often filled with pain And life seems to have a bitter-sweet refrain Walk alone, rest your soul In shady green pastures And now I am a grown man I've got so many things to do To see the truth may take a life time And it's sometimes hard to choose The door once opened can't be shut again The path you choose to walk must be followed to the end Now's the time to rest your mind In shady green pastures On the hill by the oak tree Where the crow has made her nest Carry me gently up the pathway Lay my body there to rest The golden Sun for a marking stone The wild open prairie that I call home I can feel beneath my feet Those shady green pastures
