My Trapped Soul

Solivagus

Composición de: Flávio Augusto Dourado
One day, I found myself lost in reflections about our smallness in the face of the stars
These kinds of thoughts started to haunt me after I stared at my grandfather's corpse
Since his funeral, I realized that all
Our experiences are in vain
We’re just a microscopic speck that stains the black veil of the universe

After all, we’re like the insects that crawl in the mud without reason to follow
After all, we’re like the worms that crawl in the carcass abandoned in the woods

But I refuse to live in the comfort provided by so-called gods
So I searched for some spell that preserves my spirit
I trapped my soul in a jar and placed it on the shelf
Like a tiny firefly, prevented from being forever lost
Even if I start to hate my life, I refuse to die alone

I will wander the four corners of the earth
Until the mighty Sun himself dies

After all, we’re like the insects that crawl in the mud without reason to follow
After all, we’re like the worms that crawl in the carcass abandoned in the woods

I will wander the four corners of the desolate earth until the mighty Sun himself dies
I will wander
I will wander
