Rainbowfish

If God is a white dude with kind eyes and a man bun
Then I am a hummingbird with gills like a rainbow fish
And maybe I'm just saying shit, but maybe we all are
Waxing poetically won't win you a medal

If love is a river, we're all fools with buckets
Wading in carefully, avoiding the rapids
And being pulled under is a treacherous fate
But maybe it's true, to be loved is to be changed

Been dreaming of ghosts in my sleep
And nothing makes sense anymore to me
Why can we love so deeply only to drown inside of grief?

If God was a tree and she livеd here on earth
She'd probably bе cut down to build her a church
And if grief was a river, we all would be drowning
Gulping in gallons of tragic surroundings

And I know it seems morbid, but I keep getting visions
Is it better to wonder than yell out and scream it?

If we're controlled from above
How do you explain evil?
But if it's all just a damn free-for-all
How do you explain anything, anything?
