My Uncle Jed, he lives down on the farm
whatever he does, doesn't do nobody no harm
works all day sleeps all night
he never ever worries but he's soon to a fight

Now Jed build his house down over a stream
you know his floor was a window and his roof was a dream
he planted a tree down under his bed
he never paid attention to what other folks said

Amy Lou she's Uncle Jed's wife
she's so very pretty and she's always nice
Amy and Jed they make quite a pair
a couple of freaks from the old county fair
