There is excitement in the air of that hospital waiting room
It's been nine whole months already and now they're finally due
And the friends and the families are laughing out loud
Cause this is the day they've all talked about
But in the commotion the nurse grabbed her hand and said

About the week you brought her home

Well a couple short years later, they were driving down the road
Another first day back at school, making memories of her own
She had her backpack and books
