The Big Race

Saw a sign was hangin', said "This is the Big Race,"
Said you'd better join it 'cause you've got yourself to face.
Quickly I went runnin' looking for a place to hide
Tightly hangin' onto what is called a foolish pride

While I went a-walkin', walkin' down the road
Met a man was comin' carryin' a heavy load.
Said, "Boy, you better hurry, I just came from that way
People there are sinnin' and you know there's a price to pay."

Said, "They're all a-sinnin' and it's nearin' Judgment Day
I had to leave there early before I had a chance to say,
'Jesus, Son of glory, has walked that narrow way'
You run there and tell them 'fore we waste another day"
