Suffering and Evil

Allos

Would God be unable to prevent evil?
He is able, would He be willing to?
If He’s able and willing, why does evil remain?
Would He even be almighty and good?

God won't force free beings to always choose what's good
We’re born rebels and we need to drop our weapons
Freedom is not doing what you want
It's having the right to make the choice you ought to

We need to be free even to reject God's love
True love is persuasive not coercive
Non-free being's creation would make the good greater
But without the will, His love would never reach us

Evil comes from the corruption of the free man
His effects allow us to regret
And guilt acceptance lead us to forgiveness
Pain is God’s megaphone to wake a deaf world

Jesus took upon Himself our sorrows and infirmities
    Was wounded for our transgressions
    And crushed for our iniquities

For our light affliction which is for the moment works for us
More and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory

Jesus took upon Himself our sorrows and infirmities
    Was wounded for our transgressions
    And crushed for our iniquities
