Suddenly you notice all your photos on the shelf
And you don't even recognize the versions of yourself
Staring back and smiling with a glimmer in your eye

All the while pretending you're so
Happy you could die

You say that you're home
But you don't believe it
You whispered it once

You learn to love the life you live so well

You wander down the hallway and you find the table set
You sit beneath the chandelier and
Light a cigarette
You hear the same old stories and you try to sound surprised
All the while pretending that there's something in your eye
