Flower e Chardonnay

He walks in with flowers in his hand
Chardonnay under city lights
Well-dressed like love still has a plan
Something old-school in his eyes
I watch him from across the room
Thinking how lucky she must be
Whoever gets those roses soon
Gets something rare, not easy

If that were me, I'd never look away
I'd choose him every single day
I'd read the poetry in all his plans
In his flowers, in his Chardonnay

I follow shadows down the street
Watch him smile, kind and warm
She's scrolling through her phone, bored and cold
While he's still trying to perform
Then she stands up, leaves him there
Roses fading in the air

I'd hold that moment in my hands

I think about crossing the room
Pulling that empty chair real close
Saying something soft and true
Just to give his heart some hope
