Convition

The wealth of my conviction lost
And I cannot apologize to her

My quest has been intuitive
It blindly left me lacking the right words

Driving a down a gravel road
Without a map or any expectations

I thought about the way she cried
When a rainy sky made me search for shelter

I told you, told you a story of a stranger with blue eyes
When the dawn came, we sat in silence
Broken down, looking at our hands
And while I still don’t know
I’ll head back on the road

My lesson learned and the tables turned
My silent prayers still remain unheard

My mind still goes with the ebb and flow
Of the memories and the time I had with her

And then one day, waiting for the rain to clear
I sat in a cabin with a stranger

He smiled and said the the path ahead
Opens only to the ones who know their heart

I told him, told him the story of the sadness in your eyes
When the dawn came, the wealth in his silence
And cloudy eyes made me realize
That now it’s time to be alone
And while I still don’t know
Take comfort in the unknown
And head back on the road
