High Expectations

Well I came in with high expectations
And I left kinda feelin all let down
All my hopes and dreams turned to frustrations
And my head sunk lower to the ground

All the lures and the promises
And days waiting for my ship to come in
Looking forward to the time ahead
But time goes by and you're still waiting for it to begin

All my life I've waited up all night
Just to be left alone playing in the light
Now I'm older and it's much the same
Times still change if you don't change, that's just the way life is
