Ivory Tower

A trammel in the heart
These sea-wave-like chains
By design of black arts
Weights upon our souls
Even in dreams of peace
We are lost in pain
Forever
In the tower of ivory

Shallow waters run cold
And silence surrounds
Stars witness this fall unfold
Downfall of light

My answers forsaken me
And darkness won't leave my eyes (alone)
Reality dares me to face
This guilty inside my heart

I have seen the light
(The cenotaph towers before me)
I have seen the light
(Above the waters of my own doubts)
To rise above, and be the one
(So I crawl inside and climb ever higher)
That sees beyond the endless night
(Beyond the reach of those who judge)
And ride the stars towards the end
(Never to come down again)

As the exposed structures howl
From the bottom of the ocean
This hollowness that eats my heart
Rise to the stars

Back to shelter
Close to heaven
Once again I tried to escape this hell
Not looking down
The skies so close
Delusions in the dark
Hopes in a world beyond

Seeking isolation
I hear the sound of my voice echo
As a farewell signal
Maybe I'll fade away
And no one will ever reach me again

The tower rises inside of me
And fear becomes the only way to be

Take this darkness that washes over me
Take this guilt for a life never lived

As the rain pours quenching the flames inside
