'Prayers to Lord Nrisimha'

namas te narasimhâya
My reverence to You Lord Nrsimha,

prahlâdâhlâda-dâyine
who pleased Prahlâda Maharâj.

hiranyakas'ipor vaksah-
who Hiranyakasipor his breast,

s'ilâ-thanka-nakhâlaye
stonelike with His nails as chisels.

ito nrisimhah parato nrisimho
Here Lord Nrsimha, there Lord Nrsimha,

yato yato yâmi tato nrisimhah
wherever I go, there Lord Nrsimha,

bahir nrisimho hridaye nrisimho
Outside Lord Nrsimha, Lord Nrsimha in the heart,

nrisimham adim s'aranam prapadye
to Nrsimha the origin, the highest refuge, I surrender.

tava kara-kamala-vare nakham
Your hand like a lotus beautiful

adbhuta-s'ringam
Your nails brilliantly pointed,

dalita-hiranyakas'ipu-tanu-bhringam
ripped apart Hiranyakasipu, his wasp body.

kes'ava dhrita-narahari-rûpa
Kesava Lord of man, took the form of a lion,

jaya jagadîs'a hare
all honor to the Lord of the Universe,
