Thorns Upon a Crown

Treading over fields unknown
Watching how the ripples go sea to shore
I stand in amazement
Looking at the world still turning around
Jupiter and mars, satellites and stars
Will show the way to go
Hidden all along, hidden in a song
A distant melody

As I stand on the edge who is to stay with time
Ticking away there will come a greater day?
The soil is turning black under our feet
The rivers are red and the willows weep

All days will end with surgical bend
I slip into a dream where sleeping walkers are waiting
For their sons and daughters to come home from school
The lesson is it learned
The bridge it is burned but who can really tell?
When sent from afar, yes the great unkown
And washed ashore on our land
