Coming Home

Over the wires the news were in
They are fighting off trouble in a land far away
They are fighting for freedom here this day

I grabbed my bags, they didn't have to call me in
I have turned so many corners never asking the way
My Friends and family they don't understand
But I'm heading off anyway
Tell them, I'll be coming home again

Over the wires they are fighting for and against
And when they stop you can be sure then it will be too late
Then there is no telling where we'll be

I lay my head down in the dirt of this land
For centuries these hills have carved men out of blood and sand
All the Gods have left cuz if they didn't they'd be dead
Here things are simple and a man can easily forget
That he'll be coming home again

Over the wires you saw them coming down the hills
The masses gathered at the gates, then the signal got killed
We had to push on or it would all be in vain
And I'm the only witness to my sins

A paradise was lost and her rivers are running red
There was a cause but people they tend to forget
I'll carry her tears 'till the day I shall fall
Until the day that God calls me to his halls
