We are all floating backwards from the shore
Swimming against the current for so long
I didn't know it would be so hard
Like it or not it's over before long

Pull it all through a circle, moving on
I can hold my breath longer under water
I didn't know, it would take so long
Sharpen up every movement til it's strong

The design may be as good as it gets
We could make our lines blend in with the rest

Striking another match, turn it on hot
Shaking when it gets colder takes me home
I didn't know it would be so hard

Drifting from the shore
We're not where we used to be
Flexing til it's sore
