Once I was a warrior

Walking down this lonely road all alone
Once I was a warrior, blood and bone
Been beaten by the weakness of an ignorant race
Been beaten by my own kind, and spat at in the face

Now I lay awake at night beneath the stars
Telling the stories behind the scars

I was once a warrior stood strong against the beast
Kicked over the tables at Lucifer's feast
But at last I stood alone, didn't have the power
And you stood and you watched as you now watch as I cower

Yeah I was the warrior who loved this land
Yeah I was the warrior who had it all planned
But I didn't foresee the cowardice in my own race
You wouldn't stand with me and claim you place

I still live for the day, the day of the rope
