glider swing on the porch
communion shirt
shiny shoes little boy
kicks in the dirt
hop in back of the car
when church is through
drive through the neighborhood
sunday

turning newspaper page
four eggs that fry
while the turntable arm
drops 45's
black poodle on the couch
sunday

but as the sunbeams start to dim
monday blues come creeping in
climb in bed with mom
and hide away
don't want to say goodnight
