Deranged

The preacher told me that he thinks that I'm mad
I joined a cult and fucked up everything I had
Yeah thanks a lot for your superior insight

My teacher asked me how did you get so strange?
I feel normal but I might just be deranged
Don't understand why everybody's so uptight

Killing time and trying to be
Like the people on TV
You get good at that
The inane reality
Of a human wannabe
Need my head looked at

At first I thought that I should just stand my ground
I didn't dare, they'd crucify me upside down
I used to sneak round in the darkness at midnight

And then I'd stay there 'til the spell breaks at dawn
Eat all the roses and then fall into the thorns
Something about all this that just didn't feel right
