Nightingale

"I always wanted to break free from this cage I've been put into,
but whenever I got out of one cage I found myself inside another.
The more I struggle, the more it hurts to fail.
Am I destined to live a life in this prison where I can see what I yearn for without ever reaching it?"

Understand I'm all alone,
Trapped in this world that turned so cold
Where all my dreams are just memories
Will I find my way back home
Walking these trails carved out from stone
Lost in this maze that holds my soul

Forever I have been smiling with tears deep inside
I realize in this world I'm too weak to cry

I take my dive down a cliff so steep
Wipe away these tears of pain
I feel the wind as I fall so deep
Pray for gods to save me once again

Where in all this is my purpose
Reading the lines for this play called life
But I won't perform here anymore

As I come closer to the ground
I search for a friendly face to save me
As I crumble down and cry
Catch me tonight

I fall down on the ground again
Crying for the skies to take away the pain
These tears are all I'll retain
When times pass by and life fades away
