Preconceptions

Am I avoiding my destiny
If I change what's coming to me?
To take a step in the right direction
& Make your own
You have to
Try to keep your wits about
It gets difficult when you doubt
Everything and everyone
And you won't be outdone

Something small and insignificant
Can change so much
It makes me ask myself

Would I be who I am today
If there had of been a slight change?
If I had a different name?
If the ropes around me started to fray
Would you grab hold or have me erased?

There's nothing I know you don't
There's just more than one way to skin a cat
It's all about the approach & how much you let out of the hatch
If you go too far you'll, you'll never get back
Peering off the edge of the preconceptions I had
The sharper mind beats the stronger hand
The weakest point in the bluntest man
