West Horizon

As we load ourselves for the ocean voyage
What we carry is all we own
This journey's tale has been foreboding
But the light will surely
Shine I know

Will the freedom be worth the journey
And all the hardships I must endure
Or return a social slave to my past life
I'm just hoping…..there's a great reward

We're sailing on into the sun
From our oppressions we have run
Looking towards the distant shore
To West Horizon seeking more

Oppression comes in many forms
Religious freedom's been denied
Shackled slaves in a noble land
Filthy peasants are the damned
The time has come to leave this place
Forget our names there's no disgrace
For a chance to live our lives
There's no time we're taking flight

Many dangers out at sea
From starvation or disease
And the storms that rock the ship
Surely bring us to our end
Guided only by the stars
And a burning in your heart
What can I say or can I do
Will we truly find the land of the free
Home of the brave
