Pathway To Eden

when you’re picking your pathway to eden

and you focus ahead with your eyes

don’t be fooled if you fear what surrounds you--

they are flowers and friends in disguise

and i noticed you said,

“up ahead, there is nothing.

look around—we are already done.

the place that you’re headed and here--

they are the same one.”

when you walk with a partner to eden

will you wander or stay by their side

if they stop for awhile in the entrance

and they turn back to give their goodbyes ?

oh, i noticed you waited

the gates were up but they started com in’ back down…

but you pulled me through before they came

the whole way down
