Evil Has No Meaning

here in this place built by the people
facing the greatest of the evils
a monster of our own creation
with no restraint nor regulation
this time we've let it go too far
this blatant reckless disregard
clear and present double standards
spun and pandered with careful candor
like some shifty backwards robin hood
an "evil doer" disguised as good
bankrupting those without enough
bankrolling those who have too much
a tax cut and a pat on the back
is not enough to erase the facts
which seem to change each passing day
as they try to turn our heads away

cocaine cowboys, cannot be trusted
to end lives with lies, prescribed and adjusted
shadow government, the ultimate treason
domestic spies, without need for reason
each new lie, a bullet hole
each pawn's life, disposable
when we cannot hold, responsible
our unelected, untouchables

it takes a nation to change a regime
it's time now to stand and show what that means
so say "liberate us" once more with some feeling
if this is not evil, then "evil has no meaning"

each time another breaks away
their stories always sound the same
and the liars can't even reply
with anything but another lie
piled upon a heap so unstable
tucked away under turning tables
dismissed as bitter, elite, insane
whatever it takes to shift the blame
