If you don't like it then play them the way you prefer. In the recording the guitar isn't actually playing any chords, thats all the piano (guitar is doing the part tabbed below). I found a live acoustic verison but he has tuned his guitar two steps down there, so he can play almost all of them as open chords. (and i don't like twisting my pins all the time ;) Rhythmically i just wrote down the accents.
