Optimistic

As I open my eyes in the morning
The first thing I do is give thanks
Catch up with the Lord
I tell him just how yesterday went
The ups and downs, smiles and frowns
I call that a holy vent
Try not to dwell on the negative things
If I focus on God that’s time well spent
But I'm only human once in a while
This faith gets tested
How can you know that you really believe
If every now and then you don’t get to test it
Do you really believe in Jesus Christ
Or are you just saying that you do
Or do you never believe you need advice
When you’re out there making your moves
Beloved, you’ve gotta stay guided
Can’t put one foot in and one foot out
You gotta decide it
Gotta be intentional can’t just glide it
Psalm 23 the Lord is my shepherd
I shall not want
So I follow his lead on this path of righteousness
But let me not front
Sometimes it does get difficult
When my spirit is fighting flesh
But I always try remember it’s more than physical
And I give it my best
You can’t always be waiting on rescue miracles
You gotta do your part
And show our Father who art in heaven
You hold him dear in your heart

Intertwine with the Holy Spirit

So caught up in selfish ways
We forget to show love and gratitude
And the minute that God says take your time
We talk reckless and catch an attitude
What a loving God
He still forgives us of all our sins
Even when things look faint with no hope
He turns those losses into wins
