Versus Thyself

Can someone please take me out!?
I dance in the ashes before me
Watching the silent burning skylines
My hand feels heavy
And as i reach for yours
I sense the chill of november ending
And stutter something awkward such as;

"a black belt would look cute
With that shirt you wear." or
"the glow in your sapphire eyes,
And the joy in your smile
Makes beauty redefined."

But there is nowhere to hide
From such honest eyes
Nostalgia holds me completely in its realm
And i fall to my knees…
Look now, how i bow in defeat
The rain gently drops on the ground before me
"tell me, what have i become?"

Behold aphrodite…
Oh, how i fear that your
Beloved greece will fall
How come you placed your trust in me at all…?
I can't change in ways that matter anyway
So i pray you'll forgive me
Cause this is who i am...
And probably always will be...

Now she slowly turns away
...and emptiness appears
As she silently says goodbye
I close my eyes and hold
Her words close to my heart
