Spreading A Lie

And time goes by
they live the way
In such poverty
Life's a game

Some people say
the country is free
where all the races
can live in peace

The men in press, who tell the truth
report the facts sometimes ain't true
this makes things a lot worse
Living that way won't have peace

How can some people say for them there's no difference
if most of their people are poor
And some say they treat'em equal
While time magazine prints an article on blacks who succeeded
Why such a few?

This ain't the way I wish it was
