Screaming in fear, you stumble and clamber
Legs crushed under-wheel as you scream
Femur caught in the axle, death's smell, gasoline

Drowning out desperate pleas, last gasps of fright
Life flashes before you, just before you're passed

Swap notes on the bloody road left behind us
In our wake, twisted metal and human detritus

A race to the end of all roads
Measured in bodies, horsepower, and blood
Remains dry in the heat in the cracks
Red-blood caked asphalt now curdling black
