Faith Fails

Black plague has messed my body up
Is this the price we had to pay
Dead rotten people spread around
Is this the end for humanity
I am trying to get rid of my agony
but nothing will take my fear away
there is nothing left for me
and it all seems so unreal

1368 was the year that it came to be
Black plague stroke the land like it was
a curse sent by the great one
People tried to run away but some decided to stay
hidden in their houses

Where they thought they would be safe
and not reached by the four riders

Nobody expected it would come
or less strike everyone down
A terrible disease that is no lie
Nobody wanted to die

The priests they told us - confess your sins
True believers will stay alive
Only those who the right faith
will be saved all others are doomed

As we prayed for our lives
I saw death in his eyes

Staring through my brain as he reached out
to take us with him down to the depths of hell

Nobody expected it would come...........

Looking around no sign of life
Corpses lying everywhere
Horrible black marks cover their bodies
A rotten stench is filling the air
Running away from this damn place
hoping to survive the day
I realize that those priests are lying
or can holy men betray
