A Curse Bestowed Upon A Virgin World

Night time when the sky is low
And the light has ceased to be
My heart beats slow
And stillness like a wide and open sea
I dive in and let my self go
Astray in thoughts beyond the known
At one with all and eternity
Of the coming end... and of how it all came to be

Silver threads... from the present to the end...
Thin threads... from this moment to where it all began...

In a raging inferno conceived
Out of the magma hurled
A sweltering sphere of dirt
Lost in the vastness of universe
Caught in a lengthy dance with a tiny sun
A devastating couple in blackness around they spun
Lava froze and storms gave birth to seas
Lands rose and was won by beasts and greenery...

Rose then... did her cold bane to be
Spreading through the elysian fields
So fair to behold, so foul to encounter
A deadly grace, armed with blades

In a her eyes shone a different light
One of hunger and aspiring might
Vile her ways and high her goals
Strong her zeal and wicked her soul
So fair to behold...

With ferocity and bloodshed
She carved her place in the creation
Manmade deities took to the sky
Her towers eclipsed the sun
No matter the grandeur
Vanity her guide
No matter of fair her world became
Still so afraid of the afterlife, so afraid of the night

Monuments for mere mortal men...
