Where Do Shadows Sleep?

I walk through the static of my mind
Barefoot on glass from broken time
The air tastes like yesterday
And the ceiling drips memories in grey
Faded signs, along the street
Neon ghosts hum under my feet
All the faces I forgot to keep
But tell me
Where do shadows sleep?

Do they hide
Behind the walls that never breathe?
Do they drown
In the echoes under me?
I just lay
In this room that won't forgive

Pale hands drawn on cigarette smoke
Cracks in the mirror whisper a joke
The Sun never made it past this town
It got lost, where I broke down
Letters I burned, names I erased
Footprints washed in the flood of my mistakes
I try to dream, but it cuts too deep

Do they fade
Inside the stains beneath my skin?
Do they wait
