CGD GHOST ECE : EUROPE "English Channel"G We turned around, we were headin' southD We were tryin' to get off the islandC Wishin' for a sky without any cloudsG With a big nice bright sun shinin'G We found a spot in a soggy swampD And set up our tiny tentC Our feet were wet againG But we were gettin' used to itD G Our feet were always wetG A man drove by in a silver carD With a mean look on his faceC He looked at us in the rear-viewG And then he hit the breaksG We walked up to the open windowD Not knowin' what to thinkC But he wanted to know where we were goin'G And see if it was on his wayG We told him we were goin' to DoverD And hopefully over to France that nightC He said, "So am I, hop inG And I'll give you a ride"D G And we were on our wayG He said he stopped to pick us upContinúa después del anuncioD Because we looked so out of luckC He was havin' a bad day tooG But he thought we had him beatG It was his philosophy that if you seeD Someone in a worse way than youC It's your ethical obligationG To stop and see what you can doD G I wish everyone thought that tooG He asked if we had our ticketsD And when our boat would leaveC We confessed we didn't know that yetG And we'd get there then we'd seeG He said, "You should just ride with meD Because passengers ride freeC It takes a couple of hoursG And I could use the company"D G So could we, so could weG But he was goin' to BelgiumD And we were goin' to FranceC But we decided to change our plansG 'Cause you don't pass up a chance like thatG We got there late and he was pissedD That he missed the hovercraftC If he'd have to take the slow boatG Then he would ride first classD G Our bad luck was gone at lastG We got to the lonely lobbyD And we filled our packs with snacksC They were free, those pastriesG And those drinks would weight our backsG He could see our hesitationD We were concerned about bein' rudeC He said, "Take as much as you can hold, kidsG I was once like youD G I have been there too"G We got aboard the ferryD And they took us to our seatsC Which were basically in a nice restaurantG And it looked like we were gonna get to eatG They brought us priceless menusD And they brought us more drinksC We were the only dirty kids thereG With our big backpacks and stinky feetG So we ate our three-course mealD And talked to our new-found friendC We told him about the music we playedG He was an electricianG He asked where we planned to sleep that nightD We said we had no clueC He said, "I'll drop you off by the side of the roadG That's what I used to doD G I was once like you"
