But If You Weren't Here

I know that things aren't as nice as we'd like them to be,
And I know that we don't have everything we need.
But I'm here and you're here and we still have a few
Friends and I'm not saying that I couldn't be much happier.

But if you weren't here and my friends all went away.
I probably wouldn't know exactly what to do.
If I could think good thoughts and stand on my own,
Then that might be enough to make me want to live!
