Key:
Cmaj7 B7 The kettle's on, the sun has
Em D gone, another day.
Cmaj7 B7 She offers me Tibetan tea, on
Em D a flower tray.
Cmaj7 B7 She's at the door, she
Em D want's to score, she dearly needs to say: [Chorus]
G D A "I loved you a long time ago,
(Asus4 A) you know.
G D Where the winds own
A (Asus4 A) forget-me-nots blow.
G D But I just couldn't let myself
A E go, not knowing what on Earth there was to know.
G D But I wish that I had 'cause I'm
G D feeling so sad,
G D that I never had one of your
A (Asus4 A) children". [Verse 2]
Cmaj7 B7 And across the room, inside
Em D a tomb, a chance is waxed and waned.
Cmaj7 B7 The night is young, why are
Em D we so hung-up, in each other's chains.
Cmaj7 B7 I must take her, and I must
Em D make her, while the dove domains.

[Chorus]
G D and feel the juice run as she
A (Asus4 A) flies
G D A Run my wings under her sighs
(Asus4 A)
G D A As the flames of enternity
E rise, To lick us with the first born lash of dawn.
G D Oh really my dear, I can't see
G D what we fear,
G D A sat here with ourselves in
(Asus4 A) between us. [Verse 3]
Cmaj7 B7 And at the door, we can't
Em D say more, than just another day.
Cmaj7 B7 And, without a sound, I
Em D turn around, and I walk away.
Notes on chords, etc E|--------------------|
I've written this out as if played in 1st position. Roy actually plays this with a capo on the 4th fret (so the first chord is in fact Emaj7) (although I'm not sure he doesn't play it starting on Fmaj7 on the original??) It goes very low singing it as written above - but I reckon to get away with it (mind you I never get away with my singing in the first place...). Whatever, best to think in terms of these chords. The way Roy plays the chords (as if in 1st position): =========== ==========x =========== =========== =========== |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_1_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_1_|_|_| 2_3_|_4_|_| |_2_3_|_|_| |_|_|_1_|_2 |_1_|_|_|_| 2_3_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_3_| 2_|_|_|_3_4 |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_| |_|_|_|_|_|
