Man Alive

This pollution of every mind
We're following the deaf and blind
Our liberty we've thrown away
To be secure but one more day

Now not a fight twixt continents
But one of self and self's conscience
It is now our greatest shame
Building it all in the slaver's name

Set into place
The end of us as a race
Comes when no man alive
Can conquer his darker side

A pistol in my hands
Held against this modern man
I do not seek his demise
I only want him to come to life

There is no soul that's free of blame
Our earth decays to death's domain
For from our greed that breeds today
Our future has been spent away

Kill the machine
Awaken our brightest of dreams
After all that we have done
To keep ourselves locked in prison

The dead go with the stream
And only the living can fight against it
