Flood Waves

if i could choose the days that pass
i would and i'd do it well
if they could only help me eat
and bring the papers to the wall

guilty of all charges, i walk down
silently along the sandy sidewalks
and i talk to the sea and it tells me
of the wonders inside and i follow it

and i drink and i drink so much
my lungs fill with water and fish
my coughs wake me up
and my car crashes against a tree

for a slight moment my life was gone
