Spider

This wind is bigger than me
As I cling to the branches of a tree
The house that I built with my hands is gone and I can’t hold on any longer

As I stand upon the rubble
What remains of my little home
I say to myself, "if I built it before I can build it again even stronger"

Like a spider I’ll never abandon the web that I spin

The ground is getting shaky
When I think about moving on
Saying goodbye doesn’t take very long but it stings like a life-long venom

I’ll gently wrap it in linen
And bury it softly in silk
