A Sinner's Prayer

Before I die I wanna tell the Lord I love him
Before I go I need to have some peace of mind
I'm gonna pray that I may be with all the others
In that blessed eternal kingdom in the sky

I've lived a life of both hatred and frustration
But never proud of all the bad names that I've earned
And though I'm sorry for the pain I've caused my brothers
I don't expect any love here in return

For a sinner am I and if I must die
Lord please have sympathy on me
For when it's my time if you'd be so kind
To make room in heaven for me

I've never been one to walk the straight and narrow
I've cause despair to so many that I've known
But if you find it your heart to please forgive me
I'll be so thankful just to be a chosen one
