How deserted lies the city once so full of people
How like a widow is she, once loved among the nations
She was the queen among the empires of the world
Sold her rights for compromise
Now a slave she's been unfurled
Bitterly she weeps tears roll down her cheeks
Among all her lovers there's no one to comfort her
Revelation... lamentation
But you O Lord remain and will reign forever
Your throne endures from generation to generation
Turn us to Yourself O Lord and we will be restored
Renew our days as of old revive us a new nation
Bitterly we weep tears roll down our cheeks
Among all of our allies there's no one to comfort us
We turn to Your spirit if only to comfort us
