They plotted how to take me but I was faithful to the king
Still they would have me caught praying to God

Or will the angels sent from the most high
Prove the God of Israel is alive

Oh, the princes and the presidents convinced the king
To sign a decree petitioning that all men only pray thee
And, oh, as I prayed three times a day as I have done before
To God the Lord those men abhorred and told the king who I was for
The king was sorry but he carried out what he had signed
Those wicked men they threw me in the lions den to die

Prove the God of Israel is alive
Will the king of Persia come to find
That the man of God was still inside
And the lions mouths were shut tonight
For Jehovah brought what's dead to life

Yes, king! The angels came!
And, oh, The king commanded those wicked men to be thrown in the lions den
For Daniel's God is Lord of all

The Lord delivered me and shut the lions mouths
Let God be praised, tonight let's raise our voices to the clouds!
