Peace In Hell

Oh Lord if you can hear my prayer
Why don't you send down a sign
My memories won't let me be
And I'm about to lose my mind

I'm living in a world of pain
From which I can't escape
I never meant to hurt no one
But I guess it's just my fate

Paying for the things I done
Before I learned the rule
Treat as you would be treated
Or you wind up being a fool
My life here on earth
Ain't been nothin' but a solid mess
I'd be glad to get to hell
So I can lie down by the fire and rest

Wasted my youth running wild
Like a fire that had to burn
Took from my friends and family
Gave them nothing in return

I had true love in the palm of my hand
But I let it slip away
Now I realize what I have lost
And I guess that's how I pay
