Revolution

I find heartbreak in the way
The hum of the honey bees is fading
And the winters don't come as quick as they used to
And it kills me to believe
This destruction I'm seeing
Is slowly becoming a new kind of normal

'Cause not even the wolves are safe anymore
And the soil, she's screaming, can't take anymore
Of this bullshit we call living, so carelessly
There's talk of change, but talk is cheap

So when every coast is swallowed by the ocean
And every child is choking on poison
Maybe we'll start warning something different
But why does it take losing everything to spark a revolution?

I feel broken when I see
Separation that belief
Draws between those who should be lovers
'Cause who gives a shit about the color of skin
Or political opinion?
There's a million too many bullets flyin'

'Cause not even the kids are safe anymore
Everybody's fighting, but don't know what they're fighting for
If the world's already burning, then why would we feed the flame
By condemning he who's different, like we're all not the same?

So when every street is covered in blood stains
And every child is born into hatred
Maybe we'll start warning something different
But why does it take losing all the love to start a movement?

I feel hopeful when I dream
Of the beautiful world that we
Have the ability to build
'Cause I see snow and honey bees
A population at peace
As long as the revolution don't come too late
As long as losing everything isn't what it takes
It'll never be too early to make a change
