A canvas starts in white like
The waiting room, on the other side
With vision painted in red
And ashes on my legs
I crumbled at the sound of
The unexpected

I saw your face in mine again
Avoiding sleep I'm wearing thin
But in my dreams you don't recognize me
I'm choking down my medicine
To try to see where heaven is
But I'll remain in these white walls

Lost in the wake of your absence
Try to forget all that's happened
(But I succumb)
The dark nights feel everlasting
I need a distraction but paint dries faster
Than a wound can heal

I saw your face in mine again
