My altar is two black jaguars
Whom before I
Make
My offerings
To the goddesses of song

She vanishes
Across the mattress
In black molasses
In this twilight
Her eyes like
A skydive down a mirrored well
Or a birds eye view of heaven and hell
Like she’d flown forever then suddenly fell
Surfed to shore on some miscreant swell
Like she waited all history just to arrive
And chose you and I within whom to take life
It's all impulse at the impasse
Until you imbibe
