Navigation Signs

Luke De-Sciscio

    Continues after the ad

Under which we shall burn no light brighter than the Sun
So as not to wrongly fool a form we've any strength above it
Nor the Moon at night, light a candle or pyre
That should supersede her flow so the darkest night remains dark
And the clock of the earth remains so

Suspended thus below like a child's mobile
In the cradling hands of swaddle and cot
Like a proving ground for monkey mind
Wherein the light from outside casts
A render of the slowly revolving swans

And in this plane that serves a shadow
Is a render of child in swaddling cot
Yet above is all children, all life and all God
    Cast a shadow below a child's mobile

Henceforth below, under which I shall burn no light
And low, does my shepherd gauge the way
    With navigation signs

    Continues after the ad

Like the river into which I now dive
Where the light is molten and envelops me thus
And the sky above folds seamless to the water
And my horizon is the line where they collide

And on that surface flat is life spinning
Pirouette on pirouette in the wake of my surf
And to exist upon that leaf unaware of the spin
Whilst the world around seems static
    To its own toroidal flow

Henceforth below, under which I shall burn no light
And low, does my shepherd gauge the way
    With navigation signs

Like a golden thread of impervious perfection
That fills me of dimension from which mine is just a cast
And no question is not asked that the sanguine periphery
    Occasionally dares catch
When its judgement slides and the abolition will
As the greek definition of apocalypse
That is 'renewal or a rebirth'
Without which this new herein could not exist as a palpable river
    Which as a voice manifests
Only if to tell you that the difference
    Between here and heaven

Henceforth below, under which I shall burn no light
And low, does my shepherd gauge the way
    With navigation signs
    Only ever was
Your acting as if we were not already there
