Uyuni Skies

The sky melts as hardly seen
Trembles, then the dust is clear
Assumes a sign in an early grave
The past is must, the future is late
Clouds came near where it was so clean
Lets the visibility now unseen

In these times of back and forth
When truth is disclaimed often
I recall your hazy face
Lines uncertain, I may say
Brief, it was, our little story
I expected more, I’ll avow it

Guess was wrong 'bout ya, girl
And I think the worst part was
I don't even know you right
I don't even know you girl
But it was worth not wasting time
Before I stepped out of line

Here I sit watching the skies
Thinkin' of the traps of life
Singing till stars start to come
And though it all, I do not moan
Traveling some ten thousand miles
I know this world it’s all worthwhile

My view from here is beautiful
In Atacama, Uyuni, it's so
Where my mind allows me to be
Your littleness can't let you see
The grandeur of what was awarded
To you and me, for we're just lodgers
