Walking Over Water

Some days I search for answers
Some days I find myself
Some days I choose my actions
All based on some things I felt
Some days I trust what I know
Some days it’s someone else
But if I’ve learned anything yet
It’s that my mindset helps
If I test my mental strength though
Test all the strength I have
I can see what it means to become
At peace with every thought that’ll cross my path
But I better not lose my faith though
‘Cuz I’ll sink in the middle of the ocean
When the tide picks up, I can’t give up
Or I’ll slowly soak in emotion
When I got my back to the wall
And nothin’ under my feet when I fall
That’s when I’m strongest
And the harshest on myself
Knowing that I can’t be small
Got to rise up over any challenge
‘Cuz I really got no other option
Even when waves blind your eyesight
It doesn’t make a vision forgotten

Some days I can’t see clearly
Stuck questioning my purpose
But I settle my nerves with the work that I’m puttin’ in

And it hurts sometimes when I’m starving
Like I’m at war, fighting with no army
And I hardly have any resources for material that’s worth starting
But I do know one thing’s true
Life tries to hold you down
Straps you with zip ties one day
Next day tape over your mouth
These are nothing but caused mirages
Nonsense and temporary pauses
Sometimes makin’ you feel nauseous
But that’s up to you to stop it
Society directing traffic
Telling you that you’re going down a one way
But I say fuck that, you can make your own path
Don’t worry about shit that some say
I’ll tell you when I feel strongest
When I test what I believe in
When I make myself walk over water
‘Cuz it means that I’lll keep breathing
