The Upper Hand

No one cares or ever oversees
Through the years you learn that under these
Conditions you have got to overlook
Somethings you don't do by the book

An uppercut that somebody deserves
Under your skin and also on your nerves
The skin gets thick and the nerves get shot
Don't forget what you were taught

They're underhanded understand
You've got to get the upper hand
Under the circumstances though
Sometimes you've got to let it go

The upside up till now had not been found
Get over it somehow stay underground
What I dound out from being under there
Was never in a million years

Would I myself or anyone I knew
In any way have anything to do
With any of them now at any rate
And never underestimate

They're underhanded understand
You've got to get the upper hand
Under the circumstances though
Sometimes you've got to let it go

Understand that once you've got
The upper hand and they have not
Even the underhanded know
Sometimes you've got to let it go

On top of all of that what underlies
You don't have to apologize
No one's fault and no surprise
Life goes on when death defies

The only other thing I'd like to add
Have the greatest time you've ever had
You're overwhelmed but don't forget
You still have not seen nothing yet
